You don’t have to wait for one of our big Trade-In Trade-Up events to exchange your used camera gear! You can do it from the comfort of your home with our online Request for Quote tool! We work with our partners Rob and Josh from Gulf Coast Camera. They are expert camera appraisers who travel around the country just to buy people’s used gear. Now you can request a quote online any time!

For the best value: Trade-in Credit vs. Check in the Mail

To receive the most value for your used gear, choosing a credit at The Camera Company is the way to go. You will receive an extra 10% for your gear when you do. For example, if the cash (mailed check) offer is $600, your trade-in credit offer will add an extra 10% to that, making it $660.

How It Works:

1. Request a Quote

Start by filling out our Request for Quote form

• Provide as much detail as possible about your gear, including its condition.
• Upload clear photos—especially if you're unsure about specific details.
• Once submitted, you’ll receive an email confirmation that we’ve received your request.
  
  

2. Get Your Quote

Within two business days, we’ll send you an email with both a cash offer and a trade-in credit offer. You’ll have five days to review and accept the offer.

3. Ship Your Gear—On Us!

Once you accept our offer:

• We’ll email you a pre-paid shipping label within one business day.
• Print out the email containing your quote and mark your preferred payment option (check or trade).
• Carefully pack your gear along with the printed quote and secure the pre-paid shipping label to the box.
• Drop off your package at any USPS location.
  
  

4. We Confirm & Pay You

After we receive your gear:

• Within five business days, we’ll inspect it to ensure it matches your description.
• If everything checks out, we’ll process your payment within 24 hours:
• Trade-in Credit: You’ll receive a Confirmation Email stating your credit is ready for use at The Camera Company—either immediately or at your convenience. Your credit will also be stored in our database.
• Check Payment: We’ll mail you a check.
• If your gear’s condition differs from your description, we’ll send you a revised quote for approval. If you decline, we’ll return your equipment at our expense via USPS.
