Capture the drama and beauty of the Big Lake, waterfalls, and more on this truly special workshop along Minnesota's North Shore.

Winter is an amazing time along the North Shore of Minnesota. Join us as we explore shorelines, islands, and waterfalls as they take on a special majesty in the snow and ice. Places we will photograph include Hollow Rock, The Tombolo, Split Rock, Pigeon Falls, and more. If the skies cooperate, we will also do some night sky photography.

Group Size

This workshop is limited to 9 students.

Experience Level

This workshop is for beginning, intermediate, and advanced photographers.

Easy-to-Moderate Difficulty

May require hikes from 100 yards to as much as a half-mile or so from where we park the vehicle. Terrain is typically level and smooth, but can be uneven in some areas and the walks, up or downhill, have minimal elevation change. This will require winter hiking.

Location and Airports

The workshop will be based in Two Harbors, Minnesota. If flying, consider coming in to Duluth International Airport.

1 on 1 Personalized Instruction



If you prefer more personalized instruction, The Camera Company offers 1 on 1 instruction. These sessions allow you to address only the topics you are interested in and answer your specific photography questions. Available in-person or virtually. $45 for each 30 minute block.

Minimum Registration

Camera Company classes need a minimum number of students to register before we can hold the class. If the minimum registration has not occurred within two days before the class date it will be cancelled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by email and will be offered to transfer their registration to another class offering or issued a full refund.
