Nikon Camera Basics
Thursday, February 27th, 5:30-7:45pm

During this class we will explore the settings on your Nikon camera and explore different controls and menu settings. This class is perfect if you just bought a Nikon or have had one for a while and want to know how to use it better.

Understanding Exposure
Thursday March 6, 5:30-7:30pm

This 2-hour class will give you a solid understand of ISO, shutter and aperture and how they work together to give you accurate exposure and give you the artistic look of the image.

Mastering Your Camera
Saturday March 8th 9:00am-4:00pm

This hands on workshop is design for photographers who recently got a camera and those who have been shooting in Auto or scene modes.

Sony Camera Basics
Tuesday March 11th 5:30-7:45pm

During this in person class, we will explore the settings on your Sony camera and explore different controls and menu settings. 

Canon Camera Basics
Thursday March 20th, 5:30-7:45pm

During this class we will explore the settings on your Canon camera and explore different controls and menu settings. This class is perfect if you just bought a Canon or have had one for a while and want to know how to use it better.

Pinhole Photography Workshop - PhotoMidwest
Saturday March 22nd 9am-5 pm

You'll make your own pinhole camera from precut materials and photograph a 12 exposure roll of film. Then you'll develop your film in PhotoMidwest's darkroom and digitize it. 

PhotoMidwest - Creating and Applying Textures
Tuesday March 25th 6:30-9:00pm CT

We’ll review what to look for when photographing textures and how to edit and modify them in Photoshop and other plug-in programs.

Principles of Photographic Lighting - Intro to Lighting
Wednesday March 27th 6:30-7:30pm

Develop your skills in seeing light as well as the ways in which you can use speed lights, strobes, and  create beautiful light anywhere

Introduction to Film Photography
Wednesday April 2nd, 5:30-7:30pm

We will discuss the various types of film cameras, different film stocks, and the basics of capturing images with consistent success.

Alternative Photo Approaches
Saturday April 5th, 9:00am-1:00pm

Students will explore a variety of hands-on post-production photography processes including weaving photographs, hand coloring, and alcohol image transfers.

Elevate Your Photography through Better Composition

This class will help you to understand how composition helps you tell stories in your photographs with creativity and impact.

Lake Superior Fall Workshop
October 6-10, 2025

Arguably some of the best fall color in the Midwest is along the South Shore of Lake Superior in Upper Michigan. We will photograph the UP in all its autumn beauty during this workshop. We will visit amazing Superior shorelines, dazzling waterfalls, quiet inland lakes, and more! If the skies cooperate, we will also do some night sky photography.

Tennessee Waterfalls

Tennessee is one of the most naturally beautiful places in the United States, with over 500 waterfalls. Throw in rolling hills, deep valleys and rural winding roads, along with the beautiful Fall colors and you will experience some of the most amazing scenery this side of the Mississippi.
