Photo Fundamentals for Emerging Professional Photographers

Photo Fundamentals for Emerging Professional Photographers

How many times have you watched a YouTube video and thought, “yeah, that makes sense,” but when you go to apply what you saw, all the ideas drain out of your brain and you can’t remember anything? It happens to all of us. We have a difficult translating the things we know into the things we do. This four part hands-on workshops will help you understand the technical aspects of being a great photographer in a way that allows you to not only understand but also implement techniques that make your work better.
We will review the technical basics that every photographer should know, use, and love. These aren’t lectures but rather hands-on mini-workshops designed to explore the technical foundations of quality photography, why they exist, and how to implement them in your work.

In each session, you’ll study the technical details, explore how the details have an impact on your work, and practice implementing the principles of the lesson. There will be four classes, once a week, for three hours.

Sessions:
1. Developing Your Vision: Exploring how our eyes “see” compared to how the camera “sees” to help us develop our own artistic vision and have greater success in our work.

2. Natural and Artificial Lighting Techniques: Learn how to find good natural light in any situation, how to mix flash and ambient light and control it through various modifiers.

3. Composition for Maximum Impact: Building on lesson one, this class will explore how to make your images more impactful and communicate your vision better by using various compositional aids.

4. Posing to Flatter Every Body: How angles, posing, and lighting come together to make your subjects look their best.

This is class is limited to 10 people.

Cost $350.00 plus Eventbrite online processing fee
