Part One: Classroom Session

Location: Camera Company – Odana Road Classroom

Learn how to elevate your floral images with expert instruction on:

Selecting compelling floral subjects
Creating beautiful backgrounds & strong compositions
Working with natural and artificial light
Choosing the right lenses for different floral effects
Understanding how aperture settings can dramatically shape your image
Mastering macro focusing techniques
Post-processing tips using Lightroom & Photoshop

Part Two: Garden Photo Walk

Date & Time: Saturday July 19, 9:30–11:00 AM

Location: Allen Centennial Gardens

Put your new knowledge into practice during a guided photo shoot at one of the city’s most stunning gardens. Instructors will be there to offer hands-on support, tips, and creative insight in a real-world setting.

Instructor: Lisa-Ashley Smith

Lisa-Ashley is a passionate nature and wildlife photographer whose work has been featured in local galleries and across social media. A lifelong camera enthusiast, she dove into photography full-time after becoming an empty nester, studying under some of the world’s top wildlife and nature photographers. Lisa-Ashley is dedicated to helping others grow in their photographic journey and recently returned from exploring the breathtaking gardens of Scotland and Japan—bringing fresh inspiration to her flower photography classes.

1 on 1 Personalized Instruction



If you prefer more personalized instruction, The Camera Company offers 1 on 1 instruction. These sessions allow you to address only the topics you are interested in and answer your specific photography questions. Available in-person or virtually. $45 for each 30 minute block.

Minimum Registration

Camera Company classes need a minimum number of students to register before we can hold the class. If the minimum registration has not occurred within two days before the class date it will be cancelled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by email and will be offered to transfer their registration to another class offering or issued a full refund.
