Our instructor, with an MBA in finance and decades running a wedding and portrait studio, will provide a roadmap for you to getting starting on the right foot if you decide to take your passion and turn it into a business.

This two-hour course will cover:

* Insurance and liability issues
* Creating your brand
* How to set prices to insure profitability and limit burnout
* Understanding the costs of running a business
* The tools you need to run a business
* Fundamentals of marketing in photography

Whether you have dabbled in charging for your photographs or never sold a single session, this class will help you understand what’s involved in actually making money in photography and give you some direction for your next steps.

Instructor - Steve Daubs

Steve’s passion for photography was born in the streets of Chicago followed by late nights in the darkroom in his college years at Northwestern University. Since then, he’s worked as a photojournalist, travel photographer, and, for the past 10 years, as a wedding and portrait photographer in Florida and Wisconsin. With more than a decade of experience teaching, he loves demystifying photographic concepts and helping people understand not only how to do something but why it matters.
